Working with an Item Bank (Classroom) Assessment

Once you've saved a new assessment (see Creating a New Item Bank (Classroom) Assessment), it is available in the system and you can edit it, print it, delete it, preview it, or schedule it. 

Open Classroom Assessments

Click the Assessments tab [1], then select the Classroom option [2].

Search Assessments

Search Assessments

In the Search for Assessments page, select the filters according to the assessment you want to find. Filter fileds marked with an asterisk are required fields.

  • Type [1]: Classroom (required) 
  • Subject [2]: subject covered by the assessment (required) 
  • Core [3]: standards group covered by the assessment
  • Title [4]: word(s) in the assessment title

To search for assessments, click the Search button [5].

View a list of all assessments that meet the search criteria.

Filter Assessments by Author

You can also filter the list of assessments by author using the Filter by Author drop-down menu.

View Assessments Options

In the Assessments list, view the following assessment options:

  • Edit Assessment [1]:  view and edit the assessment.
  • Delete Assessment [2]: delete the assessment.
  • Print Assessment [3]:  print the assessment.
  • Print Answer Key [4]: print the assessment answer key.
  • Preview Assessment [5]:  preview the assessment in student view.
  • Create New Schedule [6]: schedule a classroom assessment.

Edit Assessment

In the Assessments list, locate the assessment you want to edit. Then click the Edit icon.

Note: You can only save edits made to assessments if they have been administered and if the testing window for any associated schedules is not currently open. However, you can duplicate an assessment from the Edit Assessment page.

The Edit Assessment page displays which subject and core were used for adding items.

You can view the items in the assessment in the Selected Items section.

View available assessment items in the Available Items section [1]. To add an item to the assessment, click the item's Add button [2].

Search for Assessment Items

To search for item bank items to add to the assessment, use the Edit Assessment search options [1]. Learn more about Creating an Item Bank (Classroom) Assessment.

To load items related to your search options, click the Load Items button [2].

Copy Assessment

To create a copy of the assessment, click the Create a Copy button.

Save the assessment as a copy under a new name.

Note: You can only save edits made to assessments if they have been administered and if the testing window for any associated schedules is not currently open. However, you can duplicate an assessment from the Edit Assessment page.

View Legacy Calculator Notification

View Legacy Calculator Notification

If an assessment uses a legacy calculator, a Legacy Calculator notification displays [1].

To use calculators designed by Desmos, click the Switch to Desmos button [2]. When you switch to Desmos calculators, legacy calculators attached to your assessment automatically change to the appropriate Desmos calculator. 

Desmos calculators include:

  • Desmos Four-Function Calculator (contains basic functions)
  • Desmos Scientific Calculator 
  • Desmos Graphing Calculator (available by purchase from Certica; contact HelpDesk@CerticaSolutions.com for more information.)

Save Assessment

To save any changes, click the Save Changes button [1].

To save and preview the assessment as a student, click the Save Changes & Preview button [2].

Note: Refer to Student Experience for details on what students may experience, depending on the assessment schedule and other settings.

Scheduling the Assessment

To schedule an assessment, click the assessment Schedule icon. You must schedule an assessment in order for students to take it. Learn more about scheduling a classroom assessment.
