Access denied(Authorisation failed) Error Message For Skyward DGA

Updated Mar 24, 2021

When installing the DGA for a Skyward district, you might run into this error message when the DGA connects to the Skyward database:

[DataDirect][OpenEdge JDBC Driver][OpenEdge] Access denied(Authorisation failed)

You can show the district that it is an issue with the DB user that you are using by asking them to establish a connection from the DGA computer to the Skyward DB by using the ODBC Data Source Administrator tool. If there is an issue with the user then you will not be able

If you do, then the DB user that you are using to connect to the Skyward database has not been configured properly. The district will have to make sure they 1) added read access to all Skyward DB tables and 2) ran the "Update RO User" task in their "Monolith" (sp?) software.
