How to find the IP Address of a DGA installation

Occasionally you may run into a situation where a Data Gateway Agent (DGA) is installed at a customer site, but you don't know where, and you need to know so that the customer can restart it, move it, etc.

Connect Remotely to the App Server

Log into one of the jumpbox machines.

From there, use Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) to the app server of the DGS that you're interested in (for instance, CEE is CPCEEPCED-APP01)

Locate the Address in the Log File

Go to the logs directory of the Tomcat installation:

D:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 7.0\logs

  1. Open the most recent localhost_access_log using Notepad.
  2. Use CNTRL+F to search the document for the district name.
  3. The first section of the line will give you the IP address.

Here is an example record from Nagios: - nagios [12/Mar/2021:00:01:50 -0500] "GET /DataGatewayServer/agent/list HTTP/1.1" 200 17235
